Katherine R. Rook age 84 of Ashland, died Saturday July 17,2010 at her residence.
Born in Ashland on December 19, 1925 the daughter of Luzetta (Crone) and Ray V. Keen.
Mrs. Rook was an avid Barbershop harmony fan, she attended over twenty Men’s Barbershop International Conventions all over the United States and Canada. She was a member of Sweet Adeline’s for over thirty years and always sang baritone.
Mrs. Rook graduated from Ashland High School in 1944 and attended Wittenberg University for three years.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and sang in the choir for many years.
Katherine had been employed with John A Souder for twenty years until the time of his death. She then worked for Starkey Glass until she lost her eye sight in 2005.
Katherine is survived by her children, Richard Rook, Linda Greene and Patricia (Charles) Piatt all of Ashland. Four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one great grandson, Austin Lee Greene.
