VAN HOE, Katherine “Kay” Of Kalamazoo passed away Sunday morning, September 8, 2013 in Defiance, OH. Kay was born November 17, 1920 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Peter and Alice Gerlofs Drenth and had been a lifelong Kalamazoo resident.
She was a member of Third Reformed Church now Centerpoint and enjoyed traveling, gardening, baking, and spending time with her family. On May 23, 1947 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Harold VanHoe who preceded her in death on March 4, 2007. She was also preceded in death by a daughter in law, Kathy VanHoe; brother and sister, Harold Drenth and Sandra Pope.
She is survived by her children, Ruth Joe McCarthy, Larry VanHoe, Ronald VanHoe, Jeffrey VanHoe; a grandson, Greggory VanHoe; sister-in-law, Doris Drenth; brother-in-law, Arnold Pope; and several nieces and nephews.
