Katherine “Jane” Kenney, 90, of New Carlisle, Indiana, formerly of Galien, Michigan, died Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend, Indiana. Jane was born May 18, 1920 in Woodstock, Illinois to William and Katherine (Smith) Erby. On January 20, 1940 she married Glen W. Kenney in Elkhart, Indiana.
Jane and her husband lived in Union, Michigan for 30 years where they owned Kenney’s Boat Landing at Mud Lake. She served as a 4-H Leader, Brownie and Girl Scout Leader when her children were young. The Kenneys moved to Galien in 1984. Jane loved listening to The Prarie Home Companion and Swap Shop on the radio. Jane is survived by her daughters; Kaye (Chuck) Owens of Goshen, Indiana, Katherine Richter and Jack Richter of Galien; grandchildren, Timothy Richter, Jennifer Richter and Brandon Kenney.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Glen in 1998; sons, Patrick in 1946 and Glen in 1961; and grandson Donald Lee Jr in 1966.
