Winsted: Katherine D. Pettit, 91, of Spencer Street, diedMonday, November 17, 2008, following a short illness. She was the wife of the late Aloysius G. Pettit who died in 1959. Born June 25, 1917, inCartersville, GA, a daughter of the late Reverend Samuel B. and Emma(Napier) Ledbetter, Decatur, GA. She had lived in Winsted since 1956. Prior to her retirement, she had worked for the Register Citizen newspaper for over 25 years, she did volunteer work for the Winsted Memorial Hospital Thrift Shop, The March of Dimes and local Senior Center. Her survivors include five children, Gregory A. Pettitt and hiswife Christine of Vinyard Haven, MA, Katherine “Kitty” Miller and her husband Timothy of Dunwoody, GA, James A. Pettit and Theodore A. Pettit both of Winsted and Steven Paul A. Pettit of Darien, CT; asister, Cornelia Heath of TN; a brother, Samuel Ledbetter of GA and 5 grandchildren, Brittany, Sarah, Alexandra, Nicholas and Matthew. She was predeceased by two sisters, Elizabeth Branan and Caroline Herbig.
