Quellette, Katherine A. “Kathy”

Passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Covenant HealthCare-Harrison. She was 77 years old. Katherine Alice Mayer was born on August 3, 1941 in Denmark Twp., MI to the late Earl and Alice (Schultz) Mayer. She graduated from Saginaw High School in 1959 and worked for a short time at Bell Telephone in Saginaw. She married in 1961 and became a stay at home mom, participating in PTA and Girl Scouts til 1970. Kathy returned to work for Saginaw Manufacturing, where she was the first female in Skilled Trades and became a Committee Man for U.A.W. Local #467. She was also an activist for N.O.W. (The National Organization of Women). Kathy retired in 2001, and then enjoyed traveling to visit her family and spend time with her grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by her daughters: Sarah (Andrew) Voros of Leamington, Ontario; Melissa (John) Propeck of Houston, Texas; Sandra (Robert) Cline of Saginaw; grandchildren: Benjamin (Michelle) Vorwerck, Daniel Vorwerck, Matthew (Rachel) Jacobs, Mark (Vanessa Grumbley) Jacobs, Patrick (Erika) Cline and Sean Cline; great grandchildren: Lucas Schalk, Cade Vorwerck, Jackson Vorwerck, Sophie Kay Jacobs, Victoria Cline and Aidan Cline; siblings: Rev. Gary (Ruth) Mayer, James (Sharon) Mayer and Clyde (Dee) Chapman.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Earl Mayer; mother, Alice Mayer Chapman and step-father, Clyde Chapman.
