Kathe Klamer On Saturday, July 7, 2012, heaven added another angel when Kathe Klamer, 87, of Salem, passed peacefully at 10:39 a.m. at Salem Community Hospital, with her family by her side. She will be cooking wonderful German dishes for everyone and baking her delicious krapfen and strudel. Kathe was born in Grossalisch/Mediasch, Transylvania on June 08, 1925, the daughter of the late Johann and Katherina Weber. She worked as a housecleaner for 29 years. Instilled with a strong work ethic from a very young age, Kathe never shied away from hard work and did not quit until the job was done. She was an active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Salem where she sang in the choir and assisted teaching Robert Bycroft School students. A 60+ year member of the Salem Saxon Club, Kathe enjoyed gardening, knitting, and creating quilts. She is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Christa and Kenneth Marshall of Chandler, AZ and Trudy and Dave Ehrhart of Salem; four granddaughters, Julie Ehrhart-Ewing, Heidi Marshall, Kristen Ehrhart Gimbor, and Deborah Schofield; and five great-grandchildren. Kathe is also survived by two sisters, Mitzi Grenner and Anni Weber both of Bamberg, West Germany. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, George Klamer, a brother, Hans Weber, and a sister, Ziri Weber. Kathe touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity and showed her love and happiness until the end. We are thankful for her presence in our lives. She will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
