Kasmiera Frances (Michalski) Loss, 101, of East Hampton and formerly of Middletown, wife of the late John J. Loss, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 1st at Portland Care and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Louise (Mokrzynski) Michalski. Kasmiera was raised in Cromwell. She was a caring person, very devoted to her family and was affectionately known as BABCI. She leaves her daughter, Elizabeth Higgins and her husband, Raymond of East Hampton; her two grandchildren, John Higgins of East Haddam and Jennifer Belardi and her husband, Damian of South Windsor; and her greatest joy, her two great grandchildren, Garrett and Alex Belardi; her brother, Joseph Kumkowski and his wife, Mary Ann of Meriden and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Kasmiera was predeceased by her sisters, Helen Kosinski, Genevieve Cyrulik, Ladisla “Charlotte” Cyrulik and Frances Slavinski. Kasmiera’s family would like to express a special thank you to all of the employees at Portland Care for the loving and tender care given to her.
