Karen S. Jerashen, nee Scott, 76, of O’Fallon, IL, born July 11, 1941, in Broughton, IL, passed away at Memorial East Hospital with her loved ones by her side on Thursday, February 8, 2018. Karen worked at JC Penny’s in the Custom Decorating Department for 15 years and was the owner of American Aeration from which she retired before her son Jeff took over the business. She was a big St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan and an even bigger Kentucky Wildcats fan and loved to watch Golf on TV.

Karen cherished every moment she spent with her family and four grandchildren, she enjoyed playing Bingo, and bowling, and was a member of the Christian Chapel Church in McLeansboro, IL. One of her family’s favorite memories of Karen was the time she would spend singing with her sisters and brothers. Karen had a “green thumb” and enjoyed growing flowers, especially roses.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, George W. and Grace Scott (nee Farries); husband, Richard Jerashen; three sisters, Lena Jane Scott in infancy, Helen Grace Gray, Carolyn Kay Sloan; and one brother, George Washington “GW” Scott. Surviving are her three children, Angela (James) Vest of O’Fallon, IL, Jeff (Lisa) Jerashen of O’Fallon, IL, Rick Jerashen of Fairview Heights, IL; one brother, Robert Scott of McLeansboro, IL; two sisters, Martha (Cloyd) Pingleton of Raleigh, IL, Lela McLevain of Henderson, KY; four grandchildren, Cory Smith of South Pasadena, FL, Aaron Jerashen of O’Fallon, IL, Liam Jerashen of O’Fallon, IL, and Carly Vest of O’Fallon IL, one great-granddaughter Khloe Vest; one brother-in-law William H. “Fuss” Gray of Dale, IL, and a sister-in-law Wynne Scott of Indiana.
