Karen Michel was born in Independence, Iowa on November 5, 1949. She passed away August 1, 2012 in Raton, New Mexico. Karen moved to Brighton 21 years ago upon marrying Marvis Liebel. She was a mother and grandmother to everyone in the neighborhood; she was affectionately referred to as Nana by those who knew her. She gave of herself even as she was leaving this world.
Karen is survived by her husband Marvis; children, Scott, Denise, Dennis, Misti, Derek and Brandon; brother, John; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by both parents and brother, Charles.
