Karen Lynn (Levan) Georgiefski, 40, passed away at 11:44 a.m. on Friday January 12, 2007, after an ongoing battle with ovarian cancer in Memorial Hospital.
Born January 11, 1967, to Gene “Chico” and Pat Levan (South Bend) one of three daughters. On April 6, 2004 she married Gligur (Greg) Georgiefski in Las Vegas. Karen grew up, lived and worked her entire life in South Bend, after graduating from St. Josephs High School in 1985. Karens primary career focus was Finance and Purchasing Agent for I/N Tek & Kote for 15 years.
Karens effervescent personality and mastering of the one-liner sense of humor touched everyone who met her. Ever a child at heart Karen loved spending time with her nieces, nephews and adored her rescued stray dog, Axel.
Surviving members of her family include husband Gligur (Greg) Georgiefski. Parents Gene and Pat Levan, sisters Sue Levan (Chicago) and Diane Audenaert with husband Ken and their two sons, Justin and Nicholas (Indianapolis). Additionally, in-laws, Zivko and Violeta Georgiefski (Crown Point). Sister-in-law Maria with husband Robert Stewart, and their two sons Daniel and Evan. Sister-in-law Lubica and husband Al Torres. Brother-in-law Kole with wife Christina Georgiefski and their two daughters Bailey and Kylie.
In keeping with Karens wishes she has been cremated.
