Karen Gyurecz (nee Whittle), 76, of Holiday City South, Berkeley Twp. NJ, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018. Born in Murray, Utah, she lived in Edison, NJ then Toms River for 43 years before moving to Berkeley Twp. Karen was a Special Education Aide for the Toms River Regional School System, retiring from Toms River Intermediate East after 25 years.

She was an active member of the Holiday City South Clubhouse. Karen was an avid Ping Pong player, was a member of the Clubhouse’s Choir, Bocce Club and the Red Hat Society. She also loved playing board games with her grandchildren and attending their various activities and sports. Karen was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Julius, on March 7, 2017 and her nieces Leslie and Ruthie Whittle.

Karen is survived by her children Kevin Gyurecz of Toms River, Kim Bell and her husband Paul of Golden, CO, Kelly Trotter and her husband Greg of Flanders, NJ, four grandchildren Lance, Leigha, Morgan, Riley, her brother and sister in law Dale and Paula Whittle of Draper, Utah and her beloved cat Leo.
