Karen F. (Monson) Larson, age 82, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Monday, March 21, 2022 at The Waterford in Wisconsin Rapids.
Karen was born June 25, 1939 in Wyeville, to Raymond and Ella (Purdy) Parker. She graduated from Adams-Friendship High School in 1957. She married Vern Monson on August 1, 1959. They lived in Kansas and North Dakota before settling in Wisconsin Rapids. They had three children: William Grant, Jane Anne, and Robert Daniel. Their marriage later ended in divorce. Karen was employed at AGA Gas company for many years before finishing her working career at Walmart.
She will be remembered for her fierce independence, love for cleaning, her sense of humor, her support of friends, and love of her family.
Karen is survived by her children: William (Tina) Monson of Wisconsin Rapids and Jane (Ken) Daw of Slinger; grandchildren: Dakota (Megan) Monson, Allison Daw (Dave Kastenschmidt), Sydney Daw, Rebecca Monson, Steven Daw and Caroline Daw; great-grandchildren: Axel Kastenschmidt and Everett Monson; nieces: Lori Carpenter and Lisa Ystad. She is also survived by many friends and extended family.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, son Robert, and sister Julie Schulz.
