Karen Denise Johnson was born on February 8, 1961, to Clarence Elijah Johnson Sr. and
Ernestine Thompson. Karen departed this life on January 15, 2022 surrounded by her loved
ones. She is predeceased by her Father, Clarence E. Johnson Sr., Mother, Ernestine Thompson,

Karen accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age. As an adult Karen was a member

Karen received both her primary and secondary education from the Indianapolis Public School
system. Karen attended William Watson Woolens Elementary (School 45) transitioning to IPS
60, Mapleton Fall Creek Middle School and Shortridge High School.
Karen worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant for most of her career. She later worked for an
Independent Establishment where she formed many Friendships and Relationships that she
maintained up until her passing.
Karen enjoyed the company of her Family and Friends. She enjoyed music, especially karaoke

Karen had a Diva personality that was equally matched by her love for fashion. She was known
for her fashion and hardly ever wore anything twice.
Karen was a loving Mother and Nana. Karen formed an amazing and unbreakable bond with
each of her children and Grandchildren that was unmatched by any other. Karen had a warm
and beautiful smile. She had a heart of gold and many loved her. She was a loving person and
would give all that she had to help someone in need. Karen was protector of her family, loyal
and loving to her Friends. She took on the role of Mother to many even special nieces she called
Daughter (Nikki).
Karen leaves to cherish her loving memory: Her children Terrance Lisenbee Jr. (Tina), A’Keyia
Utterback (Brian Jr.) and Kenneth McGraw (Terry), her Eldest Sister Madelyn Thompson, baby
sisters Sandra Johnson, Tina Oden (Herman), La Tasha Johnson and two younger brothers Clarence
Johnson Jr. and Lyndon Johnson; Grandchildren: Brian III, Tyson, Tate, Austin, Teagan, and
Growing Baby Girl, Taylor, Tyrique, Taylor U. and Tylin. 
Aunts, Nieces and nephews, Cousins and special loved ones and Friends.
