HAMDEN – Karen Sternberg, 70, of Hamden, beloved wife of James M. Morico, was called to her eternal resting place on April 16, 2018. She entered this world on June 17, 1947 in New Haven, CT, born to Fred and Muriel (Jensen) Sternberg. In her earlier years she worked for Picker Corporation in the purchasing department and it was during this time in her life that she met her loving husband of 41 years. After a long courtship, she and James married and settled down in North Haven, CT. Karen was a caring soul that loved life and her family. She enjoyed gardening and traveling with her husband. For over twenty years she was the full time caregiver for her nephew Travis Natalino.
Besides her loving husband, she leaves behind her three brothers-in-law: Tony (Gayle) Morico, Tom (Aljean) Morico, and Tom Chessman. She will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews: Craig (Alison) Sternberg, Jeff Sternberg, Susan (Frank) Quatrella, Sally (Lewis) Socci and Travis Natalino. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother: Edward Sternberg (Mary Thim Sternberg) and her sister, Dorothy Chessman. Karen’s family would like to thank to the staff on the Cedar Unit at the Gardner Heights Nursing Home, for the loving care and compassion they have given throughout these past few years.
