Karen Ann Dunkle, 59, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015, surrounded by loved ones in her home, following a brave and lengthy battle with cancer.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, James Dunkle; her son, Christopher Dunkle (fiancée, Lori Williams); her daughter, Rebekah Cox (husband, Kevin Cox); three granddaughters (Natalie, Hannah, and Kaylee Cox); and numerous siblings and in-laws with a very large extended family.

The daughter of Herman and Ann Brantley, Karen was born on February 9, 1956 and raised in Fort Walton Beach, FL. On December 1, 1978, she married her husband Jim, the love of her life. Her priorities throughout her life were God and family. Over the course of her career, she worked at Gulf Power and with First American Title Insurance Company. Karen loved to travel and to be outdoors; and very much enjoyed the beautiful sunsets in our local area.

A wonderful wife, mother, daughter, and friend, Karen was blessed with a heart of gold and a generous, giving nature. Her beauty, love, and compassion will be greatly missed by those fortunate enough to have shared her life. Her unwavering faith in God, which strengthened and encouraged her throughout her life, has touched and inspired many.
