Riordan. Beautiful Mother to Kathleen M. Riordan (Stephen M. Lallemont), Michael M. Riordan II (Schane Burkhart), Joseph P. Riordan III, Colleen Berry (Chad Berry) and Daniel P. Riordan IV (Lane Valentine). Kindred in spirit to her Granddaughter Karoline Grace Lallemont for this life and beyond. Grandmother to Megan Lallemont, Stephen K. Lallemont, Kaytlin Lallemont, Brittney Lallemont (Billy House), Halle Schley and Nate Burkhart. Great Grandmother to Anikyn House, Milo Schley and Kylo House. These loved ones are her legacy of which she was proud. “For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; For beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; And for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.” ~Audrey Hepburn~This sentiment embodies the woman Karen not only aspired to be each day, but the life she proclaimed and served. She lived it, she said it, and showed it each and every day. Her deep love, warm kindness, gentle demeanor, demur temperance, soulful wisdom, sage guidance, combined with the patience of a saint is reflected through her life and was witnessed daily by her inner circle and beyond. Karen graduated Belmond High School in 1965 and went on to attend the University of Iowa attaining her Bachelors of Science Nursing Degree-RN in 1969. Further pursuing her schooling, she achieved a Masters of Education from the University of Illinois and postgraduate work at the University of Michigan. Karen’s constant pursuit of higher learning allowed her to be a very successful educator both formally and informally. As a voracious reader she spent years of her life soaking in knowledge which she in turn shared with so many. As a mother, Karen raised 5 incredible children that are a testament to her life’s labor. Karen grew and mentored countless nurses through her tenue at Henry Ford Community College where she retired after more than 30 years of service as a nurse. An accomplished healer, Reiki Master, and Visionary she was aligned with the needs of others bestowing her wisdom through advice, listenership, and presence. Karen loved life, family, nature, learning and travel. Selfless, giving, sweet, kind and intelligent she was everything one could want for in a woman. Karen embodied compassion and empathy for the entirety of 71 years. On February 15th, 2019 she was greeted by God, her angelic forces, and the spirit of the Phoenix to fulfill her eternity as each of our guardians. While she is missed in this physical realm, she is forever with us now. She is loved!
