Justin “Dusty” M. Kniemeyer, age 83, passed away June 13, 2019, at the Life Care Center in Port Saint Lucie, FL. Justin was born March 1, 1936, in St. Louis, Mo. He was the son of Justin Kniemeyer Sr. and Marie (McCormick) Kniemeyer Mellenthin.
After high school, Justin joined the Navy where he served on the USS Lexington. After his time in the Navy Justin attended the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse where he met Carolyn Tjarks. They were married on December 21, 1959.
Justin spent most of his career working at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. Upon retiring Justin and Carolyn moved to Florida. In his retirement, Justin enjoyed spending the day on the golf course. He was also a member of N.A.R.F.E. where he served as president for many years.
Justin is survived by his son Greg, granddaughter Kira, brother Marty (Heidi) Mellenthin, sister Margaret Davis, and lifelong friend Marie Schermetzler. He is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Albert Mellenthin, sister Barbara Bourgerie, and wife Carolyn.
