June Wineman Cooper, 89 of Greensburg passed away, Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Redstone Highlands.

She was born June 2, 1927 in Youngwood, the daughter of the late Jacob W. and Grace M. (Holtzer) Wineman.

June was a life long member of the Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greensburg. Being an avid bridge player, she enjoyed playing with her College Club and through the YWCA.

She was valedictorian of her class at Greensburg Salem High School and went on to graduate from Thiel College in Greenville.

Prior to retirement, June was Chairman of the English Department and a teacher at Greensburg Salem Junior High School. Some of her proudest moments were running into her former students.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Cooper and brother, Jacob Wineman, Jr.

Surviving are her daughter, Candy Patteson and husband, Steve of Endicott, NY; son, Coby Cooper and wife, Deana of Champagne, IL; her beloved grandchildren Ian Patteson of Denver CO, Colin Patteson of Endicott, NY, Kenzie Babbs and husband, Kellan of Grays Lake, IL, and Kylie Cooper of Champagne, IL; sisters and brother-in-law, Patricia Thompson, Janet Cooper, Robert and wife, Jo-Anne Cooper; and numerous nieces and nephews.
