June Sage, age 94, of Seminole, Florida, and formerly of Rensselaer, passed away November 5, 2011. Surrounded by loving family, June was reunited with her husband John and daughter Penny. June was born March 1, 1917, in Medaryville, IN. She was a wonderful Christian mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
June led a rich and full life. She was a very creative artist, self taught in porcelain art becoming a well known member of IPAT (International Porcelain Art Teachers). She and her husband John opened the Sage Studio in St. Petersburg, dedicated to teaching and supporting china painters, sharing her talents with all. She was still teaching at age 94. June was involved in Indiana School Reorganization in Jasper County, Indiana in the 60’s and was very active in 4-H and many community activities in the same area for many years.
June served the Lord for several years as a deaconess in the First Christian Church of Rensselaer. She also attended St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, IN. June is survived by a brother, Fred (Delores) Wagner, Medaryville, IN; a sister, Bettilou Pullins, Alamogordo, NM; two children, John F. (Juana) Sage, Seminole, FL and Pamela June (Don) King, Allen, TX; seven grandchildren, Jodi, Chris, Jeff, John, April, Kathy and Mike; and eight great-grandchildren.
