June Mildred Johnson marked her life with love and caring for her family. “My mother was always there for me and taught me the virtues of character and caring.” said her son and only child, Jim Stackpoole, a local real estate developer. Although June’s goal was to return to her much loved apartment and friends at The Stratford Court of Palm Harbor, God had other plans. June passed away on Saturday November 17, 2012 at the West Bay Rehab. Center in Oldsmar following a stroke. She is survived by her son and his wife, Jim and Kathy Stackpoole of Lutz, FL and grandchildren; U.S. Army Lt. Bradley Stackpoole and Rae Lynn Stackpoole of Kittery, Maine. Mrs. Johnson also had the joy of a loving relationship with her four great grandchildren; Noah and Ava Peltz and Sinjalee and Sedona Stackpoole. Mrs. Johnson is also survived by her loving brother; Jim Langlois, her life-long friend, Orance Carpentar, and an informally adopted son John Pikkarainen, now a retired Judge from Howell, Michigan. Born in Detroit, Michigan on June 7, 1922, She attended Cooley High School as did her brother Jim and later her son Jim. Like so many young women living in Detroit, she worked on the production of military armament during WWII. Following the war, she became a loving full-time wife to her husband Melvyn T. Stackpoole who passed away in 1972. She later remarried to Mr. Ralph Johnson of Rockford, IL.
