She was preceded in death by her husband, William Kaplan in 2004.
She was employed by the Washington County Hospital Hagerstown, MD as a Nurse Aide for 10 years until her retirement. She previously worked at W.F. Pryor in Halfway for 10 years.
She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church Greencastle, PA.
