Julius E. Rengel, 90, of Bethlehem, died Friday, December 5, 2014, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg. He was the husband of Anna M. (Kiss) Rengel for 67 years. Born in Northampton, he was the son of the late John and Katherine (Spaits) Rengel. He honorably served his country in the US Army during WWII in the China, Burma, India Theater as part of the Merrill’s Marauders. Julius worked for the PBNE railroad for almost 40 years until retiring in 1982. He was a member of the former St. John Capistrano Catholic Church, where he belonged to the Holy Name Society. He was also active in the former Hungarian Catholic Club, where he was an avid bowler. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife Anna, are daughters Patricia Leary and husband Joseph of Hellertown, Deborah Laverty and husband James of Bethlehem; 5 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by 4 brothers and 1 sister.
