Julie Marvin Rawls, 65, loving Daughter, Wife, Mother, and Grandmother passed away peacefully and surrounded by family in her home in Colorado Springs, CO. Julie was born October 23rd, 1956 in Austin, Texas. She moved to Colorado in the late 80s, where she raised her family. Julie was wholeheartedly devoted to her family and faith. She had a great love for the Lord, which she demonstrated in everything she did.
Julie was a woman of many talents and passions. She had a great love for music and was a gifted singer with an amazing voice. She had a passion for crafts and made the most beautiful wreaths for every season. Her love for Christmas was contagious, and is now shared by her whole family. Julie had an immense love for nature and the outdoors. She held a special place in her heart for Estes Park and created so many fond memories with her family there. Julie had a great zest for life and lived it to the fullest. She always took the time to stop and smell the roses and enjoy some beautiful scenery. Nothing was more important to Julie than her family and her faith in Jesus. Julie filled the lives of her family with love, laughter and so many wonderful memories that will forever be cherished.
Julie was a very kind-hearted, beautiful and strong person who bravely fought breast cancer and subsequently metastatic breast cancer in her liver. She made it her goal to enjoy one more Easter and achieved that goal before losing her battle with cancer the following day. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Julie touched the lives of so many people and we know she is watching over everyone from Heaven.
Julie is preceded by her mother, Nancy Denton. She leaves behind her father, Jack Denton; loving husband, Ray Rawls; children, Blake Marvin (Jenny) and Christa Close (Bryan); grandchildren, Ethan and Peyton Close; stepchildren, Travis and Kirsten Rawls; brothers Larry Denton (Reta) and Jack Denton (Melissa); and nieces and nephews, Taryn Denton, Lauren Denton, Jonathan Denton, and Megan Denton.
