Julie Buckler, 49, of LaPorte, Indiana, formerly of Three Oaks, Michigan, died Friday, January 5, 2007, at her home, surrounded by family and friends.Julie was born April 5, 1957 in Michigan City, Indiana to Herman E. Buckler and Joan (Benton) Buckler. Always seeking a challenge, she moved to Arizona as a young woman and lived there for 20 years before moving back to Michigan. Julie was a talented and self taught artist; enjoying sketching, making miniatures, and playing her acoustic guitar.

She also loved fishing, camping, and just being outdoors. Julie and her partner, Sharon Radtke started “Two Women and a Truck”, and as such, completed construction projects and general maintenance for homeowners. Julie was a talented carpenter and loved the work that she did.Survivors include her life partner, Sharon Radtke of LaPorte; mother, Joan Buckler O’Haver; of Three Oaks; her mother’s twin sister, who was like a second mother to Julie, Jean Baker of Three Oaks; aunt, Barbara Covalt of Elgin, Illinois; siblings, Susan Vardakis and her husband George, of New Troy, Michigan; Sally Voel Pel and her husband Joe, of Elgin, Illinois; Janie Rangel, of Aurora, Illinois; Sandy Crandall and her husband Michael of Sawyer, Michigan; Harry Buckler of Detroit, Michigan; Tim Baker and his partner, Alberto of Galien, Michigan; Tammy Markowski of North Judson, Indiana, nieces and nephews, Michael, Christian, Sarah, Tiffney, Tabitha, Jason, Josh, Julienne, Nicki, Tracy and Mandy, and eight great nieces and nephews.
