Julia Margaret (Joiner) Kauker of Edgewater Park passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 70 years old.

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Arthur Edward; their children Kathleen Lawrie and Son-In-Law Mathew of Burlington Twp, Kenneth (Jacqui Kulyk) and Kristian both of Edgewater Park and her two grand-children: Danielle and David. She is also survived by her two sisters and a brother. Julia was a resident of Edgewater Park for 48 years and was active as co-Chairperson of the year-long Golden Jubilee Celebration in 1974, contributing member of the EP Jayceettes, chaperone for the Miss Edgewater Park and Miss Burlington County Pageants, PTA president/Room Mother.

She owned and operated a child care service in her home for 46+ years, helping to raise children and support their families. Julia was member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church and her voice could be heard singing in the church choir. She used her talent to design costumes as the Costume Manager, dress the stage, operate spotlights, and could be heard narrating the program for the hearing impaired for the Bridge Players Theatre Company. Julia had many talents. She was an award winning colonial spinner and weaver and could be seen demonstrating at historical sites throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania including the Annual Arts in the Park event at Smithville Mansion in Mt. Holly and Historic Cold Springs Village in Cape May.

Julia also enjoyed camping and traveling with her family up and down the east coast. She and her family also traveled to Ireland to continue her work discovering the family genealogy. For two years she could be seen on the streets of Philadelphia cheering and supporting the Susan G. Koman 3-Day For the Cure/60 mile walkers with Art as a “walker stalker” carrying her sign that read “Because of your two feet, another day I can greet” or “We are the Tu Tu Brother’s Mom & Dad”. Last year she and Art traveled to Washington DC to cheer and support the DC walkers. In October, Julia helped serve 2 meals a day for 3 days as a crew member at the Susan G. Koman 3-Day For the Cure Camp and spent her 70th birthday with her 3,000+ Komen family members.

Her goal was to educate all who would listen to her about Inflammatory Breast Cancer and Breast Cancer in general. She had a phenomenal team of doctors that supported her crusade.
