Julia Deane Whiley, 90, of Clyde, died at Arbors of Clyde on Tuesday, January 20, 2015.
Mrs. Whiley was born in Fremont on October 23, 1924 to Frank L. and Julia Faye (Miller) Meek.
Julia graduated from Clyde High School in 1943. She had worked at the Clyde Cutlery. She graduated from Bowling Green in 1968. She than taught school in Clyde and later in Fremont for sixteen years.
Julia was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Clyde; the Joy Circle at the church; and had served as an Elder. She had formerly been a presiding judge on the Sandusky Co. Election Board; and a former member of the Sandusky Co. Alcohol & Drug Abuse Board.
On December 27, 1947, she married Lester J. Whiley. Mr. Whiley died on December 22, 1973.
Survivors include three daughters, Susan m. Whiley, Fremont; Peggy D. Whiley, and Jane L. (Scott) Ehrnsberger, all of Clyde along with one son, Roger C. Whiley, Houston, Texas. Five grandchildren; Holly; Abby; Amber; Suzanne and Kira, four step grandchildren; Jenny; Kyle; Jonathan and C.J. one great grandchild and four step great grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Whiley was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Kathy Kays and Julia M. Wheatley. Three sisters, Lelo Hudson; Emma Setzler and Jean Marie Meek; three brothers, C. Burton Meek; Fred M. Meek and John Meek are also deceased.
