Jules Jerome Borio

1930 – 2013

Jules J. Borio, age 83, of Fort Walton Beach, Fl. Went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 10, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family and pets.  He was born on March 1, 1930, in Sawyerville, Ill to Jerome and Adele Borio.  He had been a resident of FWB since he was stationed at Hurlburt AFB with the military in 1965.  He honorably served his country in the US Navy and USAF and retired in 1967 as an Air Policeman.  He was an original crewmember of the USS Coral Sea (CV43) and was awarded a certificate of plank ownership. He had a distinguished career with the Fort Walton Police Dept. and the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Dept. after his military retirement.  He served as a Detective and Crime Scene Investigator, and was a latent finger print expert.  He received notable FBI recognition and awards for his skills in latent fingerprinting and crime scene photography.  He also taught in the Criminal Justice Dept. at OWCC. He was preceded in death by his Parents; two Brothers, Angelo and Peter; and two Sisters, Olga and Letezia. Survivors include his loving wife Shirley; three Daughters; Dinah TenHagen (Don) of Yorktown, VA; Deborah Borio, (Lt Col, USAF, Ret.) of Albuquerque, NM; and Julie Baldwin of Fresno, CA.  Step Son, Carl Kelly (Madeliene);  Granddaughter, Angela Guarin (Joseph); Grandsons,MA1(EXW) Richard TenHagen, US Navy, Stephen TenHagen,  Michael Loomis (Beth) and Cedrick Kelly; four great grandchildren; and two great great grandsons; and many nieces and nephews.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Dept. Honor Guard will provide full honors.  

The family would like to express a special thank you to Doctors Hilton Weiner, Christopher Reid, and Nicholas Nagrani;  Amy Lippincott NP; the Okaloosa Cardiology Group; and, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Dept.
