Judith L. Milan (Hicks), 71, of Galesburg, slipped quietly away at her daughter’s home with family at her side on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 10:15 a.m.

She was born August 28, 1944 in Oakbrook, IL to Howard and Mary Hicks. She moved to Galesburg at an early age and graduated from Galesburg high School in 1962. She continued educating at Carl Sandburg College, Bradley University, and Sangamon State University.

She had a 40 plus year career in nursing, enjoying various positions such as critical care, surgery, trauma, and transplant teams. She also worked as a home health care coordinator, case manager, and nursing consultant. During her career, Judy also had various other accomplishments.

Judy enjoyed her children and grandchildren, family gatherings, being with her friends including her best friend of 40 years, Mary Pruett, reading, and gaming. She enjoyed her retirement years in her winter home in Adobe Wells Country Club in McAllen, TX. There she served on the board of directors and managed the Logo Clothing shop until her death.

She is survived by a son, Shawn Milan of Galesburg and a daughter, Kelly (Dale) Sell of Wataga. Also surviving are grandchildren, Craig Milan (his children, Tayah, Macaiden, Aizaic) of Galesburg, Cory Milan of Los Angeles, CA, Taylor and Matthew Sell of Wataga. She is also survived by her sisters, Shari Priest of Indian Land, SC, Pam Moore of Galesburg, Marybeth Langenbahn of Auburn, Kim Morgan and Karen Booth both of Edmond, Ok; her step mother, Gladys Hicks and sister-in-law, Karen Hicks both of Edmond, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, step father, a brother, and a sister.
