Judith L. (Pruyn) Wattawa, 79, passed away November 3, 2014 peacefully in her sleep after a lengthy illness surrounded by her daughters. She was born July 2, 1935 in Fremont, Nebraska to Norton and Martha Pryne. Judy married Leroy Wattawa on May 26, 1965 and combined their families. She was a stay at home mom. Judy and Leroy moved to Canon City in 1969, and owned the campground at the top of 8 Mile Hill for 3 years before moving to Black Forest in Colorado Springs. Judy knew how to make people laugh and was never short of a funny remark. She will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the Staff at Skyline Ridge Nursing Home for their years of love and compassion for our Mom. Judy is survived by her husband, LeRoy; her daughters, Linda (Donnie) Kear and Patti Greenlee; and five step-children. Judy has six grandchildren, Sara (Montana) Canterbury, Megan Gallegos, J.D. Kear, Andrea Kear, Evan Gallegos, and Michael Kear; and two great grandchildren, Tristan and Jacob. Judy has one surviving sister, Gretchen Johannesen. She was preceded in death by her sons, Christopher and Michael; her parents; and two sisters.
