Judith Cook, 77, of Nampa Idaho passed away Sunday January 20, 2019 at home.
Judy was born January 24, 1941 in Joplin, Missouri to George and Josephine Kaufman.
She attended Ceres High School in Ceres, California where she graduated with the honor of valedictorian. The theme of her graduating class was “where there’s a will, there’s a way” and Judy embodied this theme every day.
In the late 1960’s, her family moved from central California to Eagle ID. There she raised a family and enjoyed riding horses and working around the ranch. In the 1970’s she was a member of the Idaho Cowboys Association and became a state champion barrel racer.
She loved the outdoors and in the 1980’s moved to Riggins, ID where she and her husband operated a Salmon River jet boat business. They did hunting and fishing trips and it was non- stop adventure.
In her later years, she moved back to the Treasure Valley and settled in Nampa.
Never one to sit still, she became involved in the Nampa chapter of the Gold Prospectors Association where she was recently appointed treasurer. She provided wild land fire support in the summer and drove school bus during the school year and made some great friends along the way.
She was a kind and caring mother and grandmother. She is survived by sons, Guy, Darin, and Ryder Orozco as well as granddaughters, BreElle, Bridget, Sydney, and Ruby Orozco.
