Judy was born December 18, 1957, in Schroon Lake, New York. She was the second child and only girl of the six children born to Eugene and Virginia Shufelt Davis. Judy was ten years old when her mother passed away, and her father died in 1991. Following her mother’s death, she spent a good amount of time with her Grandma Dolly. Shortly after her high school graduation, she moved to northern Virginia, eventually settling in Sterling Park where she lived for many years. She especially enjoyed going to Algonkian Park and spent many happy hours there. Judy was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She touched the lives of everyone she met, and many grew to know and love her. She enjoyed cooking and baking and liked reading cookbooks, watching cooking shows, and trying new recipes. Judy took care of three brothers who pre-deceased her – Walter, Thomas, and Eric – all with the same rare disease which claimed her life, Spinocerebellar Ataxia. Her older brother, John, lived in Utah and passed away in June 2017 from the same disease. Judy is survived by one brother, David Davis, and his wife, Susan. Judy moved to Martinsburg, West Virginia, to live with them following Eric’s death six years ago. In June 2017 Judy moved to an assisted living facility in Front Royal, Virginia. She passed away in Front Royal on December 29, 2017, at the home of her cousin, Melissa Schall.
