Juanita (Nita) Shirey a Santa Clara resident passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father Tuesday, September 9, 2014 surrounded by her family and friends in Silver City, NM.
Nita was born July 21, 1925 in Wellington, TX to the late Dewey and Olvie( Bell Kirby) Copeland. She was married to the late Wendell B. Shirey on August 15, 1942. Nita enjoyed her five great-grandchildren and was recently blessed with two great-great-grandchildren. She will be remembered by her love for the Lord, her passion for music, her commitment to family and spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her sister, Jerrye Kelley of Weatherford, Texas;by her children, Judy Thomas and Doyle Shirey and wife Lana of Santa Clara, NM. Nita was blessed with four grandchildren; Michelle, Pam, Andrew and Alexis.
She is preceded in death by her husband Wendell B. Shirley (2001), her son Wendell Leon Shirey and her sister Nell Driver.
