Juanita L. Barber, 86, of Mattoon, IL and formerly of Literberry, IL died Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at her residence.

She was born June 12, 1928 in Arenzville, IL, the daughter of Richard John and Caroline Kruel Johnson. She married Harrison B. “Chick” Barber on November 26, 1947 in Jacksonville and he preceded her in death on March 23, 2005.

She is survived by three children, Vicki Sprague (husband, Lamont) of Crystal Lake, Russell H. Barber (wife, Lisa) of Mattoon, and Craig R. Barber (wife, Linda) of Normal; nine grandchildren, Kristin Feinstein (husband, Jonathan) of Lake In The Hills, Kara Sprague of New York City, NY, Kaitlyn Keller (husband, Christian) of Algonquin, Amie Loyd (husband Kyle) of Mahomet, Carrie Zielke (husband, Phil) of Glendale Heights, Scott Barber (wife, Megan) of Urbana, Stephanie Gilbert of Los Angeles, CA, and Ashton and Carsyn Barber of Normal; three great grandchildren, Kenzie Feinstein, Jackson Feinstein, and Graham Zielke; three brothers, Richard Johnson (wife, Hazel) of Murrayville, Edward Johnson (wife, Bev) of Roodhouse, and Robert Johnson (wife, Sara) of Manchester; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Pauline Riggs, Loretta Chapman, and Naomi Sebastian.

Mrs. Barber served 12 years as the postmaster for Literberry and was a member of Literberry Christian Church. She enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinal baseball and spending time with her family.
