Juan Dario Chavez (JD), born February 2nd, 1945, in Cedar Crest, NM, lost his courageous battle with Parkinsons on Friday, December 2nd, 2022. Reunited with his parents, Faustin and Maria Chavez; brothers, Modesto, Alfides and Joe Trujillo, and nephew, Daniel Hughes.

JD is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Hope Gallegos Chavez; daughters, Bobbi Chavez, and Faith Martinez (Lawrence); grandchildren, Katrina Duran, Angelo Esquibel (Megan), Shawna Esquibel and Audrey Paniagua; great-grandchildren, Zoey, and Leo Gonzalez.
JD is also survived by his siblings, Wilma Hughes (Al), Gene Trujillo (Terry) and Gilardo Trujillo.

JD was a graduate of Albuquerque High School and The University of Albuquerque. He served in the US Air Force, stationed in Paris, France and in England. He retired as a captain in the Albuquerque Fire Department in 1990.
JD was a man of many talents such as wood working and fishing as well as an avid athlete. He was a devout Catholic and played his beloved guitar in the Spanish Choir for 28 years. His family and friends were the center of his life, and loved by his constant companion, his puppy Winston.
