James Lauren Cowles, Jr., 71, of Statesville, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013 at his residence.
He was born on October 28, 1941 in Buffalo, NY to the late James Cowles, Sr and Doris Brownsey Cowles.
James was a carpenter who was always happy working outside. He had a “green thumb” and took great pride in all of his garden and yard work. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his partner of 50 years, Sandra Jacobs, of Statesville; sons, Mark Cowles of Statesville and Jaymie McCoy and his wife, Jennifer, of Orlando, Fl; daughters, Beanie Letterman and her husband, Dallas, of Hiddenite , Debbie Cowles and her husband, Eddie Yates, of Wiggins, Ms and Alicia Hendricks of Statesville; brother, Dennis Cowles, of Buffalo, NY; and sisters, Sandy Davy and Diane Cowles, both of Buffalo, NY; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren;
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Kim Cowles; and three sisters, Carol and Beverly Cowles and Ellie Richards.
