Joyce Seamons Geary
Joyce Seamons Geary died February 16, 2016 in Logan Utah. She was born October 2, 1924 in Preston, Idaho. She was the fifth child born to Wilford Royce Seamons and Effie Mono Paton. She spent her early years in Preston, graduating from Preston High School in 1942.
She married Ivan DeVar Geary on August 16, 1944 in the Salt Lake Temple. Ten days later they were parted for years while he fought in the European Theater of World War II. While he was gone, Joyce worked for First Security Bank in Preston. Upon his return they moved to Logan, Utah so that DeVar could attend Utah State University. After his graduation they moved to Ogden, Utah where they raised their three sons. After the boys entered school, Joyce worked at Weber State College as a secretary to the Vice President for Public Relations, Dean Hurst.
