The Legendary Detroit Tigers are mourning the loss today of their number one fan Joyce P. Barcey. Joyce left the playing field Saturday, October 27, 2012 for the last time. Born in Lansing, Michigan on July 12, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Harold Dean and Beatrice (Bartlett) Dean. Joyce P. Barcey, 85, of Salem, died at 8:50 a.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the Salem Community Hospital. Joyce attended Fenton High School graduating in 1946. She also attended University of Michigan, Bakers School of Business, and Pierce College Northridge. In 1948 she married the love of her life Glen Barcey and together they made their home in Southern California, only to come to Ohio in 1965 to become part of the Lordstown General Motors history. Joyce formed the Towne and Suburban Real Estate Firm in Salem in 1972.
