Joyce May Spoon, age 90, of Rome, passed away on December 19, 2020, at the home of her son and daughter in law, Vito and Beth, where she resided for the last year.

She was born on August 25, 1930 in Rome; a daughter of the late Edward Potts and Luella Seigler. On May 17, 1952, she was united in marriage to the Vito A. Spoon; a blessed union that lasted over 50 years until his death on December 5, 2005. Joyce retired from the DDSO after over 20 years of service, working midnights so she could care for her family. Following her retirement, Joyce enjoyed vacationing to Myrtle Beach for the winters with her husband. Summers were often spent at camp on Fish Creek at Tagasoke Camp grounds. She loved sun bathing, and garage sales but her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she had many friends.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Randy (Priscilla) and Vito P. (Beth); grandchildren, Vito P. Jr. (Carol Premo), Matthew (Melanie Owens) and Brandi (Shea Rotsell); great grandchildren, Joshua, Riley, and Kaden; and a sister in law, Helen Spoon.

The family would like to acknowledge her dear friends and neighbors, Roger and Nancy Smith and her best friend, Cathy Mulga.
