Joyce Mary Lonneman, 84, of Spirit Lake passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at her home surrounded by family. Joyce (Wallrich) Lonneman was born on October 23, 1936 in Ashton, IA to Leo and Helen (Lutterman) Wallrich. She graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in 1954. Joyce was united in marriage to Marlyn Lonneman on May 24, 1956 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ashton, Iowa. Joyce worked at Merrick Printing Company in Sibley, IA before they started their family. She helped Marlyn on the farm and raised their 7 children. Joyce worked for Osceola County Public Health from 1986-1994 when her and Marlyn retired and moved to their lake home on Big Spirit Lake. Joyce enjoyed playing cards, shopping, having coffee with her friends, fishing off their dock, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, and the VFW Auxiliary. Those left to cherish her memory are her 7 children, Karen (Patrick) DeVries of Ashton; Carol (Dennis) Ver Steeg of Sibley; Ron (Kay) Lonneman of Ft. Collins, CO; Ken (Trece) Lonneman of Garner; Dan (Stacey) Lonneman of Ashton; Craig (Fiancé Jaime) Lonneman of Adel; and Steve (Mary) Lonneman of Sergeant Bluff; 18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Bonnie Lonneman, and many nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Marlyn, parents Leo and Helen Wallrich, twin sister Jane Janssen, brother Robert Wallrich, her in-laws Dean Janssen, Darlene and Lyle Philiph, and Lavina and Noel Schoo.
