Mrs. Joyce Lynn Wright Robinson, the daughter of the late Acie Wright and the late Janie E. Boykin Wright, was born in Clinton, NC on February 10, 1940.

She passed away on May 13, 2017, at Sampson Regional Medical Center. A woman of great warmth and understated strength, Joyce always put the needs of her family before her own, and kept a smile on her face despite the hardships life dealt her.

As a member of a family of educators, Joyce continued the tradition by attending Fayetteville State University, where she earned a degree in education. Her love of education extended into the latter years of her career where she pursued her master’s degree despite nearing the end of her teaching career. Her work with students who have special needs is a part of the enduring legacy she will leave behind.

Joyce married Roy Robinson, and together they raised three children, Lashon, Jennifer and Chad. As the wife of a military man, she taught as well as worked for social services in North Carolina, Alaska, Texas, Washington and Arizona before returning to Clinton, NC to settle down.

Joyce leaves behind to mourn her passing; Her husband Roy Robinson of Fayetteville, NC, Her 3 children; LaShon Robinson of Clinton, NC, Jennifer Robinson-Nguyen (Hanh) of Virginia Beach, VA and Chad Robinson of Phoenix, AZ, Her 3 siblings; Gwendolyn Bickham of Phoenix, AZ, Donald Boykin (Judy) of Clinton, NC and Louis Wright (Barbara) of Dover, Delaware as well as many loving nieces, nephews, grandchildren, other relatives and friends spread throughout the country.
