Joyce Leonora (Dennis) Linsday, 77, passed away in Richmond, VA on July 29th, 2024 after a brief bout with pneumonia. She was predeceased by her husband Richard “Dick” Linsday. Survivors include her children, son Richard M. Linsday and his wife Cynthia B. Smith, son Charles D. Linsday and his wife Margaret Calta Linsday, and daughter Kelley A. L. Johnson and her husband Dean C. Johnson as well as grandchildren Kyle and Alexander Linsday; Daniel Martinez, Charlotte, Audrey and Carrington Johnson; Ciera Kania, Ashley Gray (husband Clint), along with great grandchildren children Kayleigh, Waylon and Wyatt Gray. Joyce grew up in the farming community of Pompey, NY, the daughter of dairy farmer Arnold quot;Archiequot; and Margaret (Skinner) Dennis and sister to Margaret Squires, and the late DeAnne Schmuck, Arnold Dennis, and Charles Dennis who introduced Joyce to her life long friend Nancy Dennis. She attended Fabius Central High School in Fabius, NY where she married her high school sweetheart Richard “Dicky” Linsday in 1966. In 1974 they moved to Nokesville, VA. where they raised three children, garden veggies, mini goats, pet squirrels, rabbits and the occasional cow. Over her career Joyce worked as a hair stylist, dental lab technician, bookkeeper and loved helping residents at The Virginian assisted living facility. She also served as delivery supervisor, driving ramshackle rusty trucks for their family-run firewood business. Joyce treasured time with her children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Joyce will always be remembered for her dry wit, enormous generosity and secret love of mini moon pies.
