Joyce B. Brown Hermann of Genesee died Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at her home. She was 82. Joyce was born April 12, 1933 at Winnemucca, Nevada to George and Ruth Reed. She grew up and attended school at Winnemucca and Paradise Valley, Nevada. She and Phil Borengraeber were married and later divorced. Joyce moved to Lewiston in 1980 and worked as a bartender at “Bojacks”, later meeting Charles Hermann. She moved to Genesee with him and drove school bus and pilot cars until an automobile accident in 1995 forced her retirement. Joyce was always a “horse person” and in 1984 was crowned Queen of the Washington State Old Timer’s Rodeo Association. She was an accomplished gourmet cook and enjoyed canning. She was also an editor for the “Taste of Home” magazine for 15 years. Survivors include her spouse of 35 years, Charlie, at their Genesee home, a son, Jeff Borengraeber of Fairbanks, Alaska and step-children, Angela Land of Missoula, MT, Eva Sanders of Lake Oswego, OR, and Phil Borengraeber of Kodiak, Alaska as well as 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and a sister, Evelyn Arrazabal of Surprise, Arizona.
