On Saturday, January 28, 2023, Joyce Batts Dixon (nee Turner) passed away and now resides in Heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus.
Joyce was born in Anawait West Virginia in 1941; and was the daughter of a coal miner, the late Harry C. Turner from Virginia, and homemaker, the late E. Hassell Turner from Georgia (nee Camp).
Joyce married at an early age and had 4 children. Later, she remarried her new love and traveled cross country-side with her now late husband and independent truck driver, the late Robert Dixon of Decatur Georgia.
During the summer months, Joyce and Bob would take the younger children cross the states in his tractor trailer to live life to its fullest.
Over the years, her sons and one of her daughters gave her a total of 5 loving grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
She was the mother of Janice Batts (Jan), Jeanie (Batts) King and her husband Robert, the late James McCless Batts, Jr., and wife Lora, and the late Jerry Ray Batts and late wife Michele; loving grandmother of Austin King, Jana (Batts) Baez and husband Tim, Jason Batts and wife Kira, Sara Batts, and Jessica Batts, loving great-grandmother of Lily, Olivia, Isabelle, Lucy, and Addy.
Joyce was the loving sister of Eleanor Bracey, Connie Scott, Ray Shamblin and wife Jan; and the late Donna Strange, and the late Evelyn (Little Fellow); and survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
