Joyce B. Haeflinger, 84, of Moravian Village in Bethlehem, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015 in Lehigh Valley Hospice in Allentown. She was the wife of Frederick W. Haeflinger. They celebrated 34 years of marriage in April 2014. Born in Staten Island, NY, she was daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Sterner) Blanc. Joyce attended Tottenville High School. She was an Assistant Vice President for First National City Bank on Staten Island. She and Fred moved to Bethlehem in 1990. She was an award winning Quilter, Doll Maker and Master Gardener. Throughout her life, she created treasures with her hands for friends and family. Survivors: surviving with her husband, Frederick are her children, Karen L. Thoms and her husband, Donald of Neptune, NJ and David E. Smith and his wife, Doreen of Staten Island, NY and Darlene Kase and her husband, Jeff of MD; a sister Doris McLendon of Clearwater, FL; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Her brother, Warren Blanc and sister, Ruth Blanc died earlier and she also joins her grandson, Matthew in Heaven.
