Joy Gilbert, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at home on February 22, 2016 at the age of 81. Joy was born September 29, 1934 to Thomas and Lorena Waddoups in Garland, Utah and grew up in Bear River City. She married Robert C. Gilbert on June 27, 1952 in the Logan LDS Temple when he was on leave from active duty in the Korean War. They had four children in five years. A few years later, she worked to put herself through college (Weber State) and became an elementary school teacher. Joy taught for 28 years, most of which was 3rd grade at Foothill Elementary.
Joy was an active member of the LDS Church and enjoyed working in the music departments and in the extraction program (Scandinavian). She also loved taking photos and keeping journals.
Survived by her husband, Robert C. Gilbert, children: Leo Gilbert, Debbie (Moussa) Bouassaba, Vicky (John) Morris, Greg (Elizabeth) Gilbert, 15 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren; sister: Shirley Loveland, and brothers Colen Waddoups and Reo (Cathy) Waddoups.
