Joy Ann Anderson passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at her home, at the age of 92.
Joy as her name implies, was born in Minneapolis, the only child of the late Arnold E. and Zuleka (Herrington) Anderson.
Her life was devoted to her work as a telegraph operator and manager at Western Union for 34 years and as a highly skilled clerical worker at Selmer Co. where she retired after 15 years of service.
Her other passions were her church, especially First United Methodist Church of which she was a member since 1941. After it closed, she began attending St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Elkhart.
Joy was never idle. She was a volunteer at the YMCA Senior Center and also Hart City Health Center for many years. She was very talented and was known for her homemade cards, cake decorating and especially her chicken baskets! She was very technically oriented and was quite a computer wiz.
Joy was loved by many and will be missed, especially by her close friends, Virginia Miller, Carol Brownsberger, Jane Sickman; cousins, Paul Herrington, Edward Snyder, Harry Snyder, Bill (Evelyn) Snyder, Heidi (Dwight) Barnes and Goddaughter Shelly Kinder.
