Jovita Garcia Zuniga, 81, a longtime Deming resident passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at her home.
She was born July 5, 1928 to Andrea Salcido and Angel Garcia in Pillares, Texas. She moved to Deming in 1967 coming from Barstow, Texas to raise her family. She was a homemaker and a communicant at St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by 3 sons, Alfonso Zuniga and wife Angela of Deming; Pedro “Pete” Zuniga and wife Delia of Phoenix, AZ and Luis Zuniga and wife Melissa of Deming; 3 daughters, Oralia Tulk, Martha Jimenez and Manuela “Nellie” Tarango and husband Socorro all of Deming; 2 brothers, Jose and Simon Garcia; 4 sisters, Juana Pando, Agueda Alvarez, Baselisa Aragon and Francisca Enrique; 25 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Manuel Zuniga on June 9, 2006, daughter, Maria Nieto on July 14, 2009 and 2 sons, Marcelino and Diego Zuniga.
