Jovy graduated from the Academy of Our Lady of Guam high school class of 1965. She decided to major in Nursing and minor in Education due to her innate desire to help people.  She was among the first graduates of the University of Guam’s Nursing Program class of 1968.  She earned her Master’s in 1972 with a degree in Guidance Counseling from the University of Nebraska, Omaha.

She worked as a Teacher and Counselor for the Guam Department of Education at various schools throughout the island.  She loved teaching so much that she taught abroad in Japan, Saipan, and Tinian.  She officially retired in 2019 to live with her daughter and granddaughter.  She served children and enjoyed every moment she spent nourishing their young minds.
