Joshua Thomas Pappa, 31, of Jackson, Michigan, formerly of Three Oaks, Michigan, died unexpectedly Monday morning, April 28, 2014 at Allegiance Health in Jackson, Michigan with his family at his side.
Josh was born October 7, 1982 in Chicago Heights, Illinois to Thomas and Laura (Barcik) Pappa. He graduated from River Valley High School in 2001 and earned his Associate Degree at Lake Michigan College. Josh bought a home in Watervliet and made a home for himself and his family, girlfriend Sarah and daughter Taegan. Josh was an umpire for Watervliet summer baseball.
He worked at the Home Depot Store in Benton Harbor, Michigan and later accepted a promotion and transfer to the Jackson, Michigan store where he again put down roots. Josh enjoyed sports and was a fan of the Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox and the Chicago Bears. He liked hanging out with friends, fishing, camping, and Gaming.
He collected baseball cards and action figures. Josh’s proudest moment was in 2007, the day his daughter Taegan Marie was born. She was the light of his life.Josh is survived by his daughter, Taegan; girlfriend Sarah Wilkins of Watervliet; parents, Tom and Laura Pappa of Three Oaks; brothers, Robert of Watervliet, Eric and Jacob of Three Oaks, grandmother Maryrose Pappa of Three Oaks and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Josh was preceded in death by his grandparents, Russell Pappa, Trudy Betts and Gus Barcik.Josh’s wishes were to be cremated.
