Josephine Schwarzfisher, 86, passed away quietly in her sleep on January 29, 2015 and now resides with Jesus. She was born on February 29, 1928 in Altoona Pennsylvania, the second of three children, where she was raised, schooled and worked until her retirement from the Pennsylvania Railroad. She was of proud Polish heritage and a devoted Catholic. She sacrificed college to help her family through the hard times of the depression by working as a telephone operator. With the passage of time she became intimately involved with the care of aging family members. She met her husband John at a local dance and the two of them were happily married and virtually inseparable for 64 years. She and her husband moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1997 to be with their only daughter, Cindy, her husband Kent and the grandchildren Callie and Chris. Jo, as she was nicknamed, was an avid sport fan and never missed the innumerable sporting events in which her grandchildren participated. Family was everything to her and she was selfless to this end. As time moved on she turned her attention to viewing professional sports whereupon her expertise was highly relied on for picking successful “Fantasy Teams” by her grandchildren. Jo was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all those who have been blessed by knowing her. She is survived by her loving husband John, daughter Cindy Parkinson (husband Kent), granddaughter, Callie (fiancé©e Robert), grandson Christopher, and sister Frances Strassman.
